Maj Benner Takes Command

Maj Benner takes the reins of Squadron 45 for the 2nd time.

For those of you not yet aware, Maj Raymond Gould will be moving out of state to take care of personal business. He has stepped down from his Squadron Commander position. Last Sunday at
SQ45 HQ we had a small change of command ceremony with just the Group Commander Maj Garbutt, Maj Gould, Myself and C/2d Lt Garbutt present. I was honored to be selected and to take Command of Squadron 45 for a second term at this ceremony.

Maj Gould did a great job as commander and he will be missed, He promises to come back for a few visits. I enjoyed working under him, and can attest to how much he loved our unit. I’m sure he will miss it.

As for me, I look forward to getting past all this quarantine mess and getting back to meeting face to face and kicking Squadron into high gear. I have a lot of ideas, and I am very open to your ideas as well. During this time where we have had our opportunities limited and dramatically affected by this quarantine and social distancing, lets take advantage of the time to make some great plans for when this is all lifted. In the mean time, I am counting on the creativity of our members to come up with unique new ways to share training and fun on our on-line virtual meetings.

Please make it a high priority to attend the Virtual Squadron meetings (Microsoft Teams) every Monday at 1830. This is our best opportunity as this point to stay connected and keep in touch.

Again, I miss all of you, I look forward to seeing your actual faces again soon and I am excited to take command again of this AWESOME squadron.
