The Missing F35 and Civil Air Patrol - Sept. 18, 2023

I'm sure many of you have heard by now about the missing F35 in South Carolina.  If not, there was an incident where an F35B Lightning II went missing after the pilot ejected due to a mishap on Sunday.  The pilot did eject safely.  The plane was considered missing up until a couple of hours ago (at the time of this writing).  What makes this interesting is there were search efforts with the Marines, Navy, FAA, local law enforcement in the area of South Carolina (where the F35 went missing), AND....Civil Air Patrol.  Civil Air Patrol performs search and rescue, disaster relief, emergency service, and more.  As a whole, the Civil Air Patrol is responsible for about 90% of inland search and rescue missions in the US as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center.  This is just one example of the many important things that Civil Air Patrol assists with...
